Lost in Thought by NeoZoan Lost in Thought by NeoZoan
What thoughts are abound in the mind of this pensive creature? Does she yearn for her humanity? Does she wish she were more beast than woman? Or is she just thinking about what dress would match best with her fur? That's for her to know and you to speculate.

This is my second submission using sampled fur textures from photographs by ~thrumyeye, this time aiming for a more full-body exposure. The high quality stock of =Oomphgirl-stock made for a wonderful base image.

Comments are most welcome.

::EDIT::
Changed to a square cropping and took ~Pouncepuma's suggestion.

That's looking best than others. Because it looks more fluffy, it most cute then. Sorry if your mind is different.

I'm glad you've enjoyed my work. I've realized in the past couple of months, that it is going to take quite a bit for me to out do myself here. :)

As impressive as this piece is, I am even more impressed that you did this on a laptop using only the touchpad. Well done!

Hah. Yes, I had to mention that. My brother is attending the 'School of Visual Arts' and has been using the desktop a whole lot leaving me with the laptop to futz with. I found I could photoshop pretty well and ended up making some of my best work! I also wanted to show that you don't really need anything fancy like a tablet to do good work. It certainly helps, but it is not necessary.

Thank you so much. I am very happy with the way this came out and I'm glad you appreciate it so. I have found in my years of photo manipulation that observation and attention to detail is key. An understanding of how people perceive thing also helps a great deal in creating the illusion of faux-reality.

I've got to eventually make a tutorial of some of my techniques. I believe that many may find them rather straight forward and repetitive. I only use two or three techniques over and over again to sculpt new images.

Thats a wonderful techique Neo. Might want to touch up the top of her dress and around her neckless as the fur seems to disappear there.

Like how you handle the ear too.

I just realized this technique may work nicely for creating a 'live-action' version of Amelia from "The Duchess of Mew"

Thank you sir... Yup, the fur around the neckless ends up looking too blurry, but it can probably be resolved with a bit of extra nitpicking. :)
